George Shapiro, Managing Director, Aerospace & Defense
George Shapiro joined Access 342 in June 2009 as a research analyst covering the aerospace and defense sector. Previously, Mr. Shapiro was a managing director and research analyst at Citi covering the aerospace and defense sector. For 25 years, he was consistently ranked among the best research analysts in his sector by Greenwich Survey and Institutional Investor. Mr. Shapiro was ranked #1 in Institutional Investor's All-American Research team for seven of those years, and is a member of the Wall Street Journal Hall of Fame. Mr. Shapiro is recognized for his detailed financial models, macro industry analysis, and understanding of company fundamentals and related stock price movement, as well as for his willingness to take strong and contrarian positions. Before embarking on a Wall Street career, he held several positions as an engineer at Qyx, a division of Exxon Enterprises, Westinghouse Electric Company and General Electric Space and Re-Entry Division. Mr. Shapiro received an M.B.A. with distinction from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, as well as an M.S. from University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. from MIT.
